Motion design has become the bread and butter of Mile 80. Whether 2D or 3D motion, interactive or pre-rendered, our global team has seen it all. We’ve worked on everything from large scale interactive canvases to super precise production animations that investors need to accurately reflect the product to a T. Our skills are varied, our speed is quick, and our experience is decades deep.

Motion design projects are the most varied in terms of schedule and cost. While some projects can involve simple 2D adaptations to stock footage or text, others can be deeply complicated 3D interactive works taking months of preparation. At the beginning of each project we aim to find the tool that best fits the job. Is this 2D? 3D? Are we looking to animate a product? If so, should it be abstracted from reality for the sake of emotion? Or does it need to reflect the real world product exactly because this is meant stand up next to the real thing? Every project is different, and our first goal is to the find the best and most cost effective solution for your business needs.

Process (5-12 weeks)

  1. Exploratory Call - we work with you to identify the use of motion design and which style best suits your budget and creative needs
  2. Visual workshop - Our team collaborates with yours to find references and craft moodboards representing the tone of the piece (~1 week)
  3. Script - Sometimes your team brings the script, other times it’s us. We’re flexible to what fits best for your circumstance. (~1 week)
  4. Storyboard - once the script and Mooboard are defined - we put a storyboard together to bring the vision to life prior to full pre-production (~1-2 week)
  5. Animation Production - This varies heavily in terms of scale and style of project. This is the moment where we take the storyboard and breath life into it. (3 days - 4 weeks)
  6. Reviews, sound, mastering - Once you see our v1, we go back and forth with your team to craft the best product possible. We work to finalize sound and master high quality renders ahead of delivery. (2-5 weeks)
