Product Demos

You have a great product. It’s gonna be greater VERY soon. But you need to create an animated pitch for customers and stakeholders that represents that future state. For this scenario, or any other product UI animation need, Mile 80 is your easy button.


It has been said that software is eating the world. While that’s a very gross visual, it certainly represents the huge growth in parts of our lives that are supported by software. Because of this, new ways for people to interact with phones and computers to make their lives easier have been popping up constantly for the last twenty years. And for that whole time, our team has been animating these UIs to make it easier for brands to describe these interactions and features to their customers, employees, and often most importantly - investors.

Process

  1. Exploratory Call - Sometimes the production demo is a bespoke animation for an event, other times its baked into a video, either way - this call is discovering your needs and how to best support.
  2. Figma share - These days most UI is built in Figma. For ease of animation, we’ll need access to an external version of the UI you’d like animated.
  3. Script - While an exact script isn’t always involved in product demos, a flow is necessary. In order to accurately reflect the product, we must understand which screens a user goes through and how and why one flows to the other.
  4. Animatic - Once the flow and Figma are in place, we bring the graphics into After Effects and begin mapping out an animatic. This has VO if called for, pacing/time, and edits from frame to frame. This doesn’t include elaborate animation and is used to ensure that the flow we’re building is correct prior to animation execution.
  5. Animation Production - The animatic is built out to reflect your product 1:1 or more abstracted if that’s the request. This is usually a 1 week process, but can vary wildly depending on scope and aesthetic.
  6. Reviews - We deliver your product demo and you give us a series of feedback rounds until it’s just right.
