Speed is our super power. While many production shops are filled with talented creatives, Mile 80 excels at delivering when the timelines are tight, and expectations are high. We’re a globally distributed team of artists custom built for projects that require around the clock attention.
Mile 80 was founded by Ryan Sheffer in 2017 on a remote island off the coast of Washington state. Because the creative talent on the island was limited, Ryan had to look elsewhere to hire. He ended up connecting with Razvan Chitu through a friend. Razvan, located in Romania, was largely working while Ryan slept. This created a flow of Ryan working during US hours and handing off work to Raz overnight. This was the accidental discovery of the power of a globally distributed team. Instantly Mile 80 had two working days inside of one. This became the fundamental hiring principle at M80.
Since then, we’ve spread across 4 continents and this has allowed for 3 days to be fit inside of one - Asia, Europe, and the Americas. This ensures that our team is constantly available to clients around the clock. Whether your project is an event, a motion design project, or a video, when you work with M80 - you have a team that is always a slack message away.
Speed is not only about being up and working - it’s also about accessibility. With each project we set up co-working Slack channels with clients that allow for streamlined and instant communication with artists. There are no go-betweens or producers at M80. You work directly with the artists on your schedule and your timezone.
Lastly, speed is about efficiency. Given our distributed workforce, we were early in ensuring that all files are easily shared and accessible across our staff and yours. We store files forever unless you tell us otherwise, and all your working files are always a Slack message or email away.
