GOOGLE CLOUD NEXT 23/24

M80 responsibilities: art direction, storyboard, motion, editing, vfx, sound
Agency: Freeman

Whenever you work with a brand as defined and beautiful as Google, there are bound to be rules. When we kicked off Google Cloud Next in 2024, this was a third GCN where our motion designers had worked inside the Google garden alongside our event agency partner, Freeman. What made this event stand apart was the thousands of motion and video deliverables, and the constant ask of how we could push the brand further and make specific moments WOW the audience.

Mile 80 worked with agency partner Freeman to conceptualize and complete thousands of motion deliverables for Keynote presentations and specific hero videos related to CEO presentation content as well as partner presentations. This project involved more than a dozen artists collaborating across timezones for the better part of 3 months and required on site support to ensure that every deliverable was pixel perfect. This project also lives in a bit of infamy because it was the last project we did without Event Playground as the software was in the process of being developed while this show was delivered. The sheer quantity of content deliverables and screen complexity ensured that we pushed further and further towards improving our pre-vis pipeline - making sure that long before a team arrives on site, they have seen and experienced their whole show in the comfort of their browser.
