Lowe’s SMM26
M80 responsibilities: Motion design, video creation, pre-visualization
Agency: XDA
M80 partnered with agency XDA to bring the experience of a Lowe’s store to the yearly managers’ conference. Big screens and loud motion and video content brought the feeling of a live sporting event to a stage that looked like the front of a Lowe’s store (really.)
For a show with a screen layout this complicated and content moments this numerous, pre-visualization technology is key. Event Playground was used from end to end on this show. Every moment was watched and previewed from each angle of the house. Changes were made to designs directly because of the experience of viewing them from the virtual rehearsal space.
Besides the complicated set of ring and ribbon screens as well as the ultra wide main screens, the show itself had many different segments that had their own unique look. Having access to a full walkthrough in our virtual environment was necessary to ensure that the show was cohesive. We were able to view when and where to use reset visuals that connected back to the VizID and better understand which portions of the show needed to stay a bit further from the VizID and sit within their own style and look.
The end result was a show where both agency and brand said it was the best show they’d ever had complete with the greatest content they had ever included. We’re confident this was only possible because we were all able to watch the show weeks and months in advance from the comfort of a web browser.
